Your First Visit with Your Trusted Family Dentist
We love welcoming new patients to our practice. As a family dentist, Dr. Ginn cares for patients of all ages and from all walks of life. Dr. Ginn cares about the relationships that he forms with his patients and wants you to feel good about going to the dentist. From your first phone call to all your appointments that follow, we want you to notice a difference with our practice.
We know that coming to the dentist may make people nervous; for that reason, we prioritize your comfort.
We ask that you arrive roughly 15-20 minutes early to your first appointment. This time will give you an opportunity to fill out some important office forms. These forms give us important information regarding you, your insurance, and the history of your dental and general health. This information will allow us to better treat you, and improve your visits to Ginn Dental Care.
Your first visit will begin with a dental hygienist.
You will receive x-rays of your mouth and a thorough cleaning. Additionally, your dental hygienist may discuss healthy home care and tips for improving the health and hygiene of your mouth.
After your hygienist has completed initial x-rays, a thorough cleaning, and provided some education tips, Dr. Ginn will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your mouth and spend time discussing your oral health goals.
Based on this discussion, you and Dr. Ginn will formulate a plan to address your needs and establish a healthy and happy mouth.
Another type of examination that will occur at all of your oral wellness visits are oral cancer screenings.
Oral cancer is one of the deadliest diseases in America, causing one death every hour. Dr. Ginn will perform an oral exam to determine if there are any suspcious areas in your mouth. If there is anything questionable in his findings, he will refer you to a specialist for further testing and/or biopsies.
Following your first appointment, you will work with our team to schedule your next appointment.
If your first appointment goes well, and no health issues are found, your next appointment will be scheduled approximately six months following the date of your appointment. If a follow-up appointment is needed to review a potential health problem, a time will be scheduled for you to see Dr. Ginn and allow him to review clinical information, your dental history, and what some possible treatment issues may be.
